| An Evening In Italy With Tony Galla (2003) |
I remember when I was a little kid growing up in Western New York. Both my mother and father were from large Italian families, so you can just imagine the food that was served on Sundays and holidays. Every meal was a feast and family get togethers with grandparents, aunts, uncles, countless cousins and freinds of the family were like full on smorgasbords. Everybody talked with their hands and ate till it hurt.Although the food was great and usually everyone was glad to see each other, the thing I remember most was the music. Almost everyone from both sides of my family was musical. Whether it was playing piano or guitar, singing or dancing, we would all entertain each other. In fact, it would become the biggest part of the day and everyone would take a turn at center stage. I just figured it was part of being Italian, and for me it became second nature. Now I carry on that tradition by bringing to life the songs that I heard when I was a child. Grazie!
